2. Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted by Hostinger, which processes data on our behalf as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR. When a page is requested, the hosting provider automatically records technical information such as the requesting IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page and the browser identification.

This happens for the secure and reliable operation of the site. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in providing a functioning, secure website.

3. Contact form and inquiries

When you send an inquiry through the contact form, the following is stored in our database:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your telephone number, if you provide one
  • the reference of the rug you are asking about, if any
  • the content of your message
  • the language version of the site you used
  • your IP address and browser identification
  • the date and time of the submission

The name, contact details, rug reference and message are used solely to answer your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, as the processing takes place at your request and ahead of a possible contract.

The IP address and browser identification are stored for a different and narrower purpose: to detect and limit automated or abusive submissions. The legal basis for that is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in protecting the form from misuse.

4. Retention

Inquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with your request and to answer any follow-up questions, and thereafter for as long as statutory retention obligations require. You may ask at any time for your inquiry to be deleted, and we will do so unless a legal obligation requires us to keep it.

5. Cookies

This website sets one cookie for visitors. It records the language version you chose, so the site opens in the same language on your next visit. It contains nothing else, and is not used to recognise or track you.

Additional cookies are set only when a member of the gallery signs in to the administration area. They exist to keep that session secure and are never set for ordinary visitors.

This website uses no analytics, no advertising, no tag manager and no tracking or profiling of any kind. Nothing you do here is measured or passed to a third party for that purpose.

6. Typefaces and external content

The typeface used on this site is delivered from our own server. It is bundled when the site is built, so your browser makes no request to an external font provider and no data is passed to one.

No external videos, maps, social media widgets or comment systems are embedded in these pages.

7. WhatsApp and WeChat

The site offers links for contacting us through WhatsApp, and shows our WeChat details. These are ordinary links and displayed information — neither service is embedded in this website and neither receives data from your visit here.

If you choose to start a conversation through one of them, you leave this website and the privacy policy of that provider applies to the conversation. What you send us there is used only to answer you.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15), to have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16), to have your data erased (Art. 17), to have processing restricted (Art. 18), to receive your data in a portable form (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on our legitimate interests (Art. 21).

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority. In Germany this is the authority of the federal state in which you live or in which the controller is established.

9. SSL/TLS encryption

This site uses TLS encryption for all connections. You can recognise it by the lock symbol in your browser and by the address beginning with https://. While it is active, what you send us through this site cannot be read by third parties in transit.
